PIONEER TECH GAMES · ESTABLISHED SOUTH AFRICA
One studio, one desk, a lot of iteration. Every system gets simulated before it ships, every sprite gets a second look, every bug gets a root cause — not a patch. This is where that shows up.
// 01 — How this studio works
Pioneer Tech Games is a small, independent studio. Every system in every release is designed, tested against real data, and iterated in public sight of the numbers — not just gut feel. That discipline is the whole pitch.
Systems are planned before they're built — progression curves, economies and difficulty are modelled and simulated before a single stage ships.
Hand-built in Godot, with custom tooling written specifically to test and balance each release rather than relying on guesswork.
Every major balance change is run through an automated difficulty simulator before it reaches a real player.
Audio, art and feel are treated as core systems, not a final coat of paint bolted on at the end.
// 02 — Games
A comic-horror tower defense game set entirely inside one very haunted office building.
100 hand-built stages, a rotating cast of 28 office-borne enemies, 9 towers built out of stationery and spite, and a consultant named Barry who is absolutely the source of the infestation. Built for short sessions and long campaigns alike.
// 03 — Apps
A free blood pressure logbook for Android, in Afrikaans and English. Same engineering discipline, pointed at a very different problem.
Built for people who struggle with small buttons and fine print: large plus and minus controls instead of a keypad, starting from your previous reading, three text sizes, and a printable PDF report to send straight to a doctor over WhatsApp. No account, no adverts, and no internet permission at all — every reading stays on the phone.
